1. JOB PURPOSE:

Perform professional accounting work, including compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. The role requires an understanding of accounting. fundamentals and principles, as well as experience in bookkeeping. Responsibilities may include any or all the following: ledgers and preparation. of journal entries, fixed asset or inventory accounting, preparation of trial. balance or financial statements, cost accounting, bank account reconciliation.

 

2. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting and Audit

Key contributor in the monthly financial close, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions and the completeness of financial statements. Liaises with external auditors, presents significant item updates, supporting documentation for the year-end audits. Participate in internal audits, providing supporting documentation and explanations as needed.

Revenue and Account Receivables

Administer revenue related financial transactions such as verifying, calculating, and posting revenue and related accounts receivable information. Generating receivables' reports and reconciling the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all receipts are accounted for and accurately posted. Process credit and collection activity such as following up with past due accounts, credit risk monitoring, new customer set up, regular customer evaluation and keep track of cash receipt. Review of customer contracts for proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards.

Accounts Payable

Process invoices, expense reports, and other payables in a timely and accurate manner. Verify invoice details, including quantities, prices, and terms, and ensure proper approval before payment. Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies.

Fixed Assets

Administer fixed assets processes to ensure accounting procedures related to fixed assets are duly followed. Maintain fixed asset module and reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger. Review and update the fixed asset register for any new additions, disposals, transfers, or other adjustments, including maintaining a detailed schedule of fixed assets.

Accounting Policies and Compliance

Contribute to the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Identify areas for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Responsible for ensuring implementation of authority matrix, policies, and departmental controls to increase accuracy, governance and efficiency in the finance and administration.

Business Partnering

Provide necessary support for resolving queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies.

 

3. TASKS:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and variance analysis, identifying and explaining significant variances.
  • Provide recommendations to improve budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Review and post journal entries for accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and other adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Interpret financial data and trends, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Perform cost analysis and profitability assessments for products, projects, or business segments.
  • Assist in the coordination of external audits, including providing audit support and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Participate in the implementation and monitoring of internal control procedures.
  • Utilize accounting software and financial systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation, implementing changes to enhance accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Provide training and support to staff on financial systems and processes.
